Sources and citations

When an AI assistant answers, it often cites the pages it built the answer from. Those pages are where the assistant learned what it says about you and your competitors — a Reddit thread, a review site, a comparison article, a competitor’s own blog. The Sources section of the app shows all of them. It has three views.

Domains

Every website cited across your answers, ranked by how often. This is the quickest way to see which sites the assistants trust in your category. If the same few review sites and forums keep appearing, being present — and described well — on them is often worth more than anything on your own site. Clicking a domain lists the pages from it that were cited, and how often. On a forum or review site that tells you which threads and reviews the assistants actually read — the ones worth taking part in.

URLs

The same data one level down: every individual page cited, with how many times. Search it for a page, or for a domain to see all of its pages together.

Citation Gap

For each prompt, how often your site is cited compared with the competitor cited most often: Expand a prompt to see two lists:

• Competitor breakdown — each competitor’s appearance rate on this prompt, with its domain.
• Content to create — the competitor pages the assistants cited for it, and how many times. Those are pages that are working for someone else on a question you care about — a clear brief for content of your own.

Filtering

All three views follow the date range, model and segment filters. Different assistants lean on very different sources, so it’s worth looking at them one at a time.
